News for the season start
Dear beach volleyball players,
the weather is still mixed but we are sure that our information on the 2023 season will make you want to hit the sand!
As every winter, the ebf team has been active behind the scenes, laying the groundwork for a great season. We are delighted to see that you are already busy registering for tournaments!
Before the season really gets underway, here are some things worth reading and knowing for you:
Back to the roots: Finals 2023 will be a 3-day event
Let's start with the end: the 2023 finals will take place as usual at the Ingolstadt Baggersee. But there is one change: we will return to the 3-day format and start on Fridays like in the good old days instead of Thursdays as before.
You can already note the date in your calendar: 4 to 6 August. 3 tournaments played in the respective category (women's, men's or mixed) are a prerequisite for admission, as usual there are no exceptions. Another new feature is that you can already find the final in the tournament overview and register. Please let us know in time where the demand is, this will make the planning easier.
New tournament fees
After well over a decade, it was time to adjust the tournament fees. For Ladies, Men or Mixed the entry fee is now 10 € per person, for Young Freestyle 7,50 € per person. The additional income goes 100% to those without whom our tournaments could not take place: our organisers.
New fee for tournament cancellations
Don't worry, it won't get more expensive...on the contrary: Cancellations between the deadline and the online registration deadline will only cost 50% of the entry fee (until 2022: 100%). Cancellations after the online deadline, as well as any cancellations by early registrants, will still cost the full entry fee. All details can be found here: https://www.ebf.li/de/cms/verein/beitrage-und-gebuhren
New feature: Friends list
You can find a great new feature in your account under my.ebf => My friends list. You can add all your buddies to your list by searching or by clicking on their profile page. This will make it easier to send them messages, see their tournament results and stats, and find them in message lists.
BIGWAVE becomes name sponsor
Our long-time partner and sponsor BIGWAVE, those are the ones with the cool sunglasses, rises to the name sponsor of the expert series: from now on they are called BIGWAVE Ladies expert, BIGWAVE Men expert and BIGWAVE Mixed expert. Many thanks to BIGWAVE for their commitment!
The ebf team is growing
In winter, several beachers joined the ebf team: Manuela Burkhardt (organiser support), Timo Kretzschmann (youth), Benjamin Koopmann (youth) and Rudi Knipfel (tour organiser) are now helping out in various areas to make the ebf even better. At https://www.ebf.li/de/cms/verein/ebf-team/ you can see how big the team has become and what the people behind the ebf look like.
If YOU would like to join in, just get in touch. Whether it's IT, public relations or something completely new...we're always happy to hear from people who want to get involved.
the ebf of tomorrow: Young Freestyle
For the kids we offer tournaments as well as free training events (see tournament overview). Our new members Timo and Benjamin, introduced above, will take over this valuable youth work.
As always: new organisers are always welcome.
As mentioned above, they are the foundation of the ebf: without organisers and beach facilities, nothing works. If you would like to help out the club's finances, please contact us without obligation at tour@ebf.li. In addition to the entry fees, we will also be happy to help you with know-how and some basic equipment such as pens and clipboards before your first tournament.
DVV-Mixed: Collect points at ebf tournaments
At some BIGWAVE Mixed expert tournaments this season, points will be awarded for the DVV Mixed ranking list. The information will be announced in time in the respective tournament details. The German Mixed Championship will then take place in Ingolstadt in mid-September. The highlight: the first 3 teams of the Bavarian championship, i.e. of our ebf final, have a guaranteed starting place at the German!
Voleibol de Praia: the Portugal Tour
You might have noticed that you can now switch from English to Portuguese on ebf.li in the top right corner? There is a reason for this: with our new member Carlos Coimbra from Portugal, there will now also be an ebf tour in Portugal! Stay tuned for more information :)
So much for today, we look forward to seeing you soon in the sand
your ebf!
